Prologue

Let it be said of me,
“She was open, like a book.”
& like a book,
Some people can’t get much
Further than page 1.
I am a poem-volume
Amidst documents of war;
The thrill explorers felt as
Their schooners left the shore.

One day I’ll be a Favorite Book
Read ‘neath the setting sun.
For now, I’ll stay true to myself
And whisper my page 1.

Thanks for the comment! Yeah I’m not usually as poetic as this but I liked how this one turned out!

There are days I have that Page 1 feeling!! Thankfully they are interspersed with chapters!

That is a great sequel poem for this—the chapters! Thanks for the comment!

skillfully, playfully woven words. Page 1 is where the reader gets hooked :)

I love this! It’s a great metaphor, and I relate to it.

It’s a miracle that I came up with it, poetry isn’t my forte hehe. Thanks for the comment!

“I will never write enough” speaks volumes. Cheers.

I can’t think of any other way to describe my lifelong crisis :)
